Today, June 28th, the HRM Heritage Advisory Committee had a special meeting and on the agenda were the following items:<\/div>\n

The addition of a mid-rise addition to the Music Room House on Agricola was passed along with the applications for grants for Schmidtville and South Suburb. The total value of the submitted applications seeking grants is over $2.8 million in Schmidtville and South Suburb.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Lastly, the College Street development which involved the accident of dropping the corner house on Carlton Street at College that resulted in its demolition. The motion passed to allow the development to move forward by safely moving the house on the site facing Robie Street. The development’s final approval will now go to Regional Council.<\/div>\n

Agenda items: the park will have many repairs done. An interesting item on the agenda is an update on fire safety in the park. In the past week I had emailed the Director of HRM Parks and Rec about concerns regarding the lack of functioning fire hydrants in the park. I hope this item leads to action because the park is a unique urban forest that abuts the residential South End and needs improved fire fighting tools to keep residents safe.<\/div>\n
