August is well under way and I have some news this week.<\/div>\n

As a candidate for District 7 Councillor, I am organizing lawn signs to be put out and first allowed day for display is on September 1st. I am asking readers if they would be willing to display a lawn sign to support my campaign to please contact me. The signs are very classy and will not clash with any garden gnomes.<\/div>\n

Point Pleasant Park<\/u><\/div>\n

My petition and advocacy efforts for Point Pleasant Park have had a positive impact. They have highlighted the need for housing, reviewed fire safety in the park, and raised questions about HRM’s jurisdiction over the park. The latest development is that MP Andy Fillmore has written a letter to the Minister for Parks Canada requesting that Point Pleasant Park not be used as an encampment site. I have also submitted my petition to Andy Fillmore, Parks Canada, and the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. It is important to continue advocating for affordable housing, improving our green spaces, and supporting those in need.<\/div>\n
